LAEVISSIMUS Nephrurus laevissimus are the smallest of the Nephrurus with adults rarely exceeding 20g. Commonly called Centralian smooth knob-tails, N. laevissimus occurs in the dry sand regions of central and south-western Australia. They range in color from yellow to pink and are generally devoid of any spotting, giving them a very smooth appearance.
